Striving for continuous improvement of our process is a key tenant of CSIA. And, sometimes humor can remind us of its importance. Here are a couple of funny videos that help illustrate the point:
- “Toast Kaizen” video – this has become an absolute classic. It’s hard to watch this video and not imagine areas of our business that could benefit from a little process optimization.
- Waste and Bad Process at the Order Grill from Portlandia – this article and associated video provide another example based on an episode of Portlandia was revealing as well. I can’t say that I’ve ever watch Portlandia, but I thought this take on poor process is hilarious.
I like his idea of using these videos as a humorous training exercise for a team in identifying problems with the process and the physical layout based on what they see. And, it doesn’t hurt, that the article provides a cheat sheet on many of the things that could improve the process.
